The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly influencing many aspects of human life. However, experts have warned that humans should not completely hand over control to machines. AI expert and author Charles Edouard Bouee said AI should be used to assist humans rather than fully replace human decision-making. According to him, maintaining a balance between humans and technology is essential to ensure AI remains safe and beneficial.
He explained that excessive reliance on AI could create situations that are difficult for humans to control. Depending too much on machines for instant answers may also reduce human sensitivity and critical thinking, especially in the technology sector. Bouee emphasized that the main purpose of AI should be to eliminate low-value and repetitive tasks so humans can focus more on creativity, innovation, and strategic decision-making. If machines are forced to replace humans entirely, the risk of mistakes could increase.
In the healthcare industry, AI has already brought major changes by processing massive amounts of data to assist medical diagnoses, research, and healthcare efficiency. The technology is also considered capable of helping healthcare systems facing heavy pressure.
In addition, AI is believed to improve people’s quality of life. It can help increase the precision of medical operations, improve road safety, and provide humans with more free time to spend with family or pursue hobbies.
Despite its advantages, Bouee warned that AI development also presents major challenges for workers. Governments are therefore encouraged to provide retraining programs so employees can adapt to new technologies and avoid being left behind by automation. He also highlighted the global competition in AI development, which is currently dominated by the United States and China. According to him, both countries are leading the AI race, while Europe still lags behind in technological advancement.
Experts believe the future of AI will depend on how humans choose to use it. If managed wisely, AI can become a powerful tool to improve human welfare. However, without proper supervision and control, the technology could create unpredictable consequences.
