HONOR has officially confirmed that its futuristic “Robot Phone” will be launched in the third quarter of 2026. The unique smartphone was previously showcased as a concept device at several major global tech events, but HONOR has now hinted that it is finally heading to the commercial market.The device first attracted attention during MWC 2026 in Barcelona. HONOR described the Robot Phone as a “new species of smartphone” that combines AI technology, robotics, and cinematic photography into a single mobile device.
One of the biggest highlights of the Robot Phone is its self-developed micro 4DoF gimbal camera system. This technology allows the camera module to move automatically and track subjects in real time, delivering smoother video recording and a more professional filming experience. HONOR claims that the motorized system used in the phone is among the smallest in the industry.More interestingly, HONOR is also collaborating with German cinematic camera company ARRI. The partnership is expected to bring “ARRI Image Science” technology into the Robot Phone, improving cinematic color reproduction and video quality. ARRI is widely known in the film industry for its Alexa camera lineup which has been used in numerous Hollywood blockbuster productions.
According to several reports, the Robot Phone may feature a 200MP camera sensor combined with AI motion tracking technology to keep subjects in focus while moving. The AI-powered system is also expected to provide faster response times and more natural interaction through the movement of the camera module itself.HONOR also showcased the Robot Phone during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival through its “China Night” event. During the event, filmmakers and content creators were given the opportunity to test the phone camera capabilities firsthand. HONOR stated that the device is designed to bring professional level video recording into the smartphone form factor.
Although the exact launch date has not yet been revealed, HONOR confirmed that the Robot Phone will arrive sometime between July and September 2026. Pricing details, market availability, and full specifications also remain undisclosed for now. However, many expect China to become the first launch market before a wider global rollout takes place. With its combination of AI technology, robotic gimbal mechanics and collaboration with ARRI, the HONOR Robot Phone is shaping up to become one of the most innovative and unique smartphones of 2026.
